This is my part of a trade with *FlannMoriath :) I'm sorry it's not exactly in the style of [link] ... I hope you like it ^^;

So, I realised I pretty much only ever draw static poses.. and it gets boring, so I reffed two different images on this one to try to get things looking okay for an "actiony" pose. I wasn't entirely sure what kind of dog Kirsten was, and I went on a retriever-ish look. The photos I referenced are: [link] [link]

I went a bit different with the style on this one too. This is my "pseudo-realism" style I really like to draw in :) I actually fell in love with the sketch of this one, and was TERRIFIED of messing the inking.. so I went and rearranged everything on my desk and my lamps to get good lighting and had at it, and loved it even more after inking. Then I was all afraid of colouring... and here it is! .. and better yet, I'm thrilled!

Inking was done with a ZIG Millenium 05 pigment ink pen. Colouring is achieved with Prismacolor markers with white charcoal and black pencil for the highlights and extreme shadows. I had used the charcoal for this before, and decided that I really needed a finer-detail black too and went at it with the pencil too.. and I am glad I did!

I absolutely. ADORE. this.

I love that you tried out an action pose! I'm such a sucker for action poses. I really like your "pseudo realism" style, and I love the effect that the brown paper has on the piece. I absolutely love the ears and the tongue, and how happy she looks, and I love the white highlights and the little tail, and I love how well you did her colors! Thank you so soooo much for this, I absolutely love it, and I'm very glad that you're happy with the outcome too! :D :D

I don't draw them enough, be it human or animal, and it's something I realllly wanted to do :)
